If you arrive a day early, we highly recommend you visit to the UAF (University of Alaska, Fairbanks) Museum. It is acclaimed one of the best with exhibits of Wooly Mammoth, Mastedons and ringed seals. They also have a section on the infamous Aurora Borealis (Nothern Lights).

Begin your Alaskaadventure this morning via private luxury transport service. This tour is an ADULTS ONLY tour, as children have gone back to school.   Your tour will begin at 8:00 AM with your escort.  Travel thru the historic Tanana Valley on your scenic drive to Denali National Park . Everything about Denali National Park is big: the scenery, the mountains, the incredible beauty, and the animals. Today you have a choice between the following two activities:

Denali Wildlife Park Tour: Begin your tour at the Wilderness Access Center in Denali . Here you will embark on an Alaska Wildlife Tour, an excellent way to spot the wildlife for which Alaska is so famous: moose, bear, wolves, caribou, dall sheep. With over 365 million acres of wilderness in Alaska, Denali National Park boosts an adventure around every corner. This tour affords the best chance to see an abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat. It's a fascinating 9 hour shuttle tour into the park that you won’t want to miss. Sack dinner and beverage will be supplied. So bring your camera and binoculars, you won’t want to share. (D)

Nenana River River Rafting & Cabin Nite: Enjoy either a scenic slow float raft trip or a more exciting white water raft trip on the Nenana River , floating past granite cliffs and tundra laden mountains. Watch for dall sheep or other wildlife as you float past the beauty of Denali .  Next, after freshening up at your lake side Inn , it’s off to Cabin Night Dinner Theatre for a fun filled comical theatrical dinner show where you will get to interact with other visitors from all around the globe. This evening, upon your return, sit out by the lake and watch for the many resident loons and mallards, maybe even a moose or two! Overnight in Denali.

DAY TWO - DENALI NP / TALKEETNA:
Rise refreshed and ready to find more treasures this AM in the Denali wilderness on your Alaskan tour. Next, on your way to Talkeetna, cross over Hurricane Gulch, and have your cameras ready as the vistas are breathtaking. With stops to catch a glimpse of Mt. McKinley , you make your way to the historic base camp for hikers who wish to try there luck at climbing the tallest Mountain in North America.  Upon arrival in Talkeetna, your afternoon adventure takes you down the Talkeetna, Susitna and Chulitna rivers on your Jet Boat Safari:

2-Hour Riverboat Adventure : Your exciting trip will begin aboard the fifty-one passenger "Talkeetna Queen" as it whisks you into the heart of the wilderness in comfort. This is the most technologically advanced river jet boat in Alaska designed to safely navigate rivers that were previously inaccessible. It is glass-domed, environmentally controlled, and has an onboard restroom for your comfort. Upon arriving at our Safari sight you will take a 1/4 mile leisurely nature walk. You will visit an authentic trapper’s cabin and view how trappers lived in "Bush" Alaska at the turn of the century. Your experienced guide will display raw furs from the local area and demonstrate trapping methods. Naturalists will acquaint you with the wildflowers and plants that grow in abundance along the river system and you will learn about the edible plants that were used by the Native Indians for cooking and medicines. As you travel ten miles of river you will have opportunities to view nesting bald eagles, beaver activity, and moose and you just might see black bear and grizzly bear roaming the shore. Wildlife, folklore, artifacts and a panoramic view of Denali in the Alaska Range combine to make this an unforgettable Alaskan river adventure.

After your river trip spend some time in the heart of Talkeetna.  With many shops and Museums to explore, you will enjoy every second in this quaint little town.  Overnight at a beautiful Lodge. (B)

DAY THREE - TALKEETNA:
This morning you will get to experience on of the most spectacular flight seeing tours in Alaska!

Denali Flight seeing & Glacier Landing : This magnificent flight takes you within six miles of Mt. McKinley 's summit. As your flight departs Talkeetna, you begin to see how the last ice age has shaped the land. Moments later you enter a world of rugged high mountain peaks and wide glacier filled valleys. Listen as your pilot describes the natural wonders of Denali National Park . See the Sheldon Amphitheater, beautiful Ruth Glacier, and the Great Gorge (the world's deepest - almost 2 miles from top to bottom). "No visit is complete without this experience!" Land on the Sheldon Amphitheater glacier beneath Mt. McKinley . The aircraft are equipped with skis, floats, and voice activated headphones. Passengers, each with comfortable window seats, enjoy narration by an experienced pilot-guide highlighting points of interest including geology, wildlife, and history. Flight time is 1.5 hrs and includes a glacier landing.

In the northern frontier, life is different

Musher & Dog Sled Excursion: After your flightseeing, we will travel south to Willow to visit an accomplished musher who presents his story of Alaska and the Iditarod in a fashion that captures the essence of the Iditarod.  He weaves in the history of sled dogs from early native use, gold rush use, the famous Serum run to Nome during the 1925 diphtheria epidemic-the focus is on the husky. The uniqueness of the Iditarod from the standpoint of length, diversity of competition and the NO HELP rule are highlights. Training and care of Iditarod dogs is demonstrated. The logistics of the race and food drops, checkpoints, veterinarian care, the Iditarod Air Force and trail conditions inspire questions. Race strategy and the changes to the Iditarod Race Vern has seen in his twenty five years of racing elicit more dialogue. Clothing and survival gear along with sleds and equipment are topics that are backed up with demonstrations. Stories from the trail are exciting and fun. Ride in comfort in Our New Dog Mobile. As there is no snow this time of your or a sled, the dogs pull you in a free wheeled buggy as this is how they train during the summer months.  Better for the dogs!  Safe and Fun!  Our wilderness trail is over bridges and through the woods.  You can see and feel the power and love the dogs have for what they do.  Finally taking the summer pups for a walk is a fantastic experience.  You will soon see why we fell in love with the Alaskan Husky.  Pups tell the story of their care and they inspire us.  You will walk away from the hike feeling great!

From here you will travel 30 miles south to Wasilla for an overnight in comfortable accommodations based on your booking date. Take a look at a few of the properties we use.

DAY FOUR - PALMER / KNIK GLACIER:
Join the group on one of the most scenic valley drives up the side of Hatcher’s Pass. This area boasts plentiful local wildflowers for the botanist in all of us. The views from the top are stunning. Next, try your hand at gold panning. This is the real thing, in a river stream, not a salted trough! Lunch or an early libation is available at the Motherlode Lodge on this Alaskan tour.

In the northern frontier, life is different

This afternoon's adventure will take you aboard an airboat ride to Lake George, the base of Knik Glacier. Lake George, an ice dammed lake was once responsible for floods of cataclysmic proportions. Knik Glacier, 28 miles long, 6 miles wide, and over 1000 feet thick, is one of Alaska 's grandest natural attractions. Knik Glacier, born in the Pleistocene Glaciation period (the beginning of the Ice Age) 600,000 years ago, covered the Anchorage bowl and the entire Cook Inlet . Knik Glacier found its way to Hollywood and was featured in such movies as Star Trek V, Running Free, and numerous music videos and commercials. While it remains active, motion imperceptible to the naked eye, this glacier is in a constant state of change. End your day with a dinner stop to relax before your return to your overnight lodging. (B)

DAY FIVE - MATANUSKA VALLEY & GLACIER:
This morning brings one of the most dramatic drives in the state. As your Alaskan tour heads north to Chickaloon, the Matanuska Glacier reveals its full glory. The Matanuska River winds its way north beside us, cutting a cavern of beauty through the Matanuska Valley . Keep your eyes peeled for you will be traveling thru “Moose Country”. You will have a lunch stop at Sheep Mountain Lodge before entering Glacier Park .

Step back in time to the glacial age, as you walk onto the Matanuska Glacier. Enjoy the pristine beauty of the diamond-like sparkles of the deep blue ice crevasses. No experience necessary!   After your relaxing drive back thru the Matanuska Valley , you will have the choice of dinner in our your escort can take you to any of the many fine dinning choices in Wasilla or Palmer. Overnight in your same accommodations. (B)

DAY SIX - PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND:

After your morning breakfast you will head South thru the Matanuska Valley, the farming belt of Alaska . Pass the Palmer Hay Flats and the Knik Arm of the Cook Inlet where this tundra area is home to arctic wildlife and several species of birds.  You will travel thru Anchorage to the Turnagain Arm.  As you make your way to Portage Valley , keep your eyes out as you pass Windy Point, one of the best spots to see mountain goats and magnificent Dall Sheep. Finally travel the longest highway tunnel in North America , the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel.  A unique design that enables a single lane of traffic to travel directly over the railroad track saved tens of millions of dollars over the cost of constructing a new tunnel.  At the other end is the quaint little fishing town of Whittier .

This Alaskan tour features top coastal attractions

This afternoon aboard your Prince William Sound day cruise, explore the untamed wilderness and calm waters of magnificent Prince William Sound. Visit a working salmon hatchery. Delicious King Crab cake lunch included.

After your cruise, you make your way back thru the tunnel to Portage valley, you will have a stop at Portage Glacier and Begich Boggs visitor center.  Learn how Portage Glacier deposited a gravel ridge here called a terminal moraine during it’s 1893 advance. From here you will arrive to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Visit Alaska’s only drive thru wildlife park, sanctuary to orphaned and injured animals.  Get close-up shots of bison, elk, deer, musk-ox, moose, caribou, and eagles.  The bear cubs are the icing on the cake!   On your way to Anchorage you will stop at Beluga Point looking for the many pods of Beluga Whales chasing salmon that come in with the tide. Stopping at Potters Marsh gives you an opportunity to photograph water fowl from the boardwalk, read the wildlife displays or search for spawning salmon.  Once in Anchorage , your escort will take you to your hotel and assist you with your luggage.
